Probably you're in the wrong country. If you could live in England, it may be easier to have little money, but still to have your beer. To start off with, there is a pub at almost every corner, it is very accessible. People also seem to be looked after by the Government, probably always a little that can be used for pub money. One can probably look at it as an essential investment in mental health.

This has to be the difference between the US, UK and France. Beer versus wine. Maybe beer has a more calming effect on people than wine, which could be the reason for the French disposition of getting uptight sooner than Brits can get. Also beer can be a more enlightening experience, people come up with much better inspirations and ideas. So that is probably how they get to send more troops? Has to be the beer?

No problem getting to the beer for me. I am within a mile of two stores that sell beer. And about a mile and a half of a full sit down and drink bar. When I bought my house over 20 years ago it was in the country. Then town moved in on me.

Glad, as I can imagine that has to be a necessity, rather than a luxury.

It feels like a necessity, but it is a luxury for old poor sick guys. I always tell my wife I can't mow the yard without beer. But the yard is covered in snow now.

Does shovelling the snow not count for a beer?
