9/11 Pentagon conspiracy

I thought there was a conspiracy theory about this, in that there had been the appearance of an attack, but that it had been contrived to make the people fearful, not the Pentagon?
A plane smashed into the side of the building. I saw the damage to the Pentagon, the parking lot it had skidded along and the previously mentioned highway it had crashed into. I heard the casualty report. I remember the Brass being dumbfounded as they realized that the Pentagon had been hit.
Where is the airplane that was supposed to have hit the Pentagon?

There are people in the truther movement that think it was a missle. They believe the whole 911 attack was an inside job, they say the Gov. launched a missle into the Pentagon. They say the flight over Pa. was shot down and the planes the hit the WTC had suspicious pods attached to the underside of the plane and missles were fired at the moment of impact. The guy that is promting this is Phil Jayhan at LETSROLLFORUMS.COM , they also have a JFK forum (which I have been Banned ) that have some really crazy conspiracy theories. It is a Christian based site, Grace belivers, as I found out, really crazy.
For me the Pentagon has been built to be impenetrable. I think conspiracy. Although of course not with enough facts available to say it for sure. What do you think really happened?
The Pentagon may have been impenetrable back in the 40s when it was built but it is not compliant with fire safety codes, has no fire sprinkler systems, the section that was hit was under renovation ( which began in 1994 ) and did have installed sprinkler system, which saved lives. Normally that section had 4,500 employees, but due to renovation only about 800 were working in that section. What do I think happened... Flight 77 hit the Pentagon. Many eye witnesses saw the plane hit the pentagon, you could see a path of light post that were clipped by the plane While making its approach to the Pentagon. If a missle was fired, what happened to flight 77 and all the passangers?
I thought they did uncover the debris, and it was the debris that made some come to the conclusion that it could only have been a missile?
Who came to that conclusion, the truthers. Not one of them was on sight that day. If you believe the truthers, all the witnesses who saw the plane hit, were either mistaken or planted. All the firefighters, rescue workers (who removed body parts), investigating teams that recovered the black boxes and plane debris were all in on the cover up. I've never read the truthers explanation of why the air lines reported flight 77 to have been hi-jacked, I guess they were mistaken also or in on the cover up. Flight 77 was bound for Calif., I don't remember LAX reporting flight 77 arrived on schedule or some person say, Gee, I had a relative on that flight and they arrived unharmed. To quote Carl Sagan, " Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof ".
I like the quote. I just can't help but think however that there was something fishy in the September 11 attacks. The attacks were just too perfectly orchestrated for them to have been coordinated a few time zones away. That so many of those terrorists managed to get through security exactly at the right times, something just does not compute for me. And then having the video of the twin tower being struck over and over by a plane, what a media event that was, and I can't but help wondering whether those media events were really the point of the whole exercise, including all the publicity Ossama Bin Laden got, someone we barely knew from before. Almost like he was recreated and validated as something to fear with those publicity shots.

People tend to concentrate on the colapse of the buildings and if a missle hit the Pentagon but the strongest smell of fish comes from the info before and during the attacks. Remember the inside trading going on at the time, that was supposed to be investigated, I've read not one thing about it! The Taliban said they would turn Bin Laden over to the U.S. if they would show the evidence that he was behind the the 911 attacks. And the U.S. answered with Tomahawk missles. Rumsfeld said he would show the evidence that Bin Laden was behind the 911 attacks, were still waiting! Go through that time line, be warned, the smell of fish maybe overpowering.
To be honest, I've seen some sickening conspiracy theories with the Pentagon. I stand by the idea that it was a terrorist attack. At worst you might call it a LIHOP, but I see more evidence of gross incompetence in failing to stop it than anything else.
I won't go with the MIHOP theories, those are ofter just plain stupid especially when you get to CIT fly-overs that the more mainstream TM has even distanced itself from.

I think a plan crashed into a wing that was in the middle of being remodeled.
People love conspiracy theories. If you think our politicians are incompetent, do you really think they can keep enough people's mouths shut about shooting a missile at our own buildings?
What I love is how stupid they are. The economy is going into a recession, the military is under funded and American soft/hard power is on the decline at a global level and what (according to the 'Truthers') does the gov't do? Wipe out it's economic nerve center, put the Pentagon out of commission and try to kill everyone in congress. Had the attack worked (ya 3,000 people died but when you consider Al Quida's actual plan... :unsure
the USA, as a viable state, would have been wiped out and gone the way of the USSR.Sure the way things turned out has made the US ito a police state with people only now getting wise but the odds of this happening and not the actual attack going as planed are so low the gov't would have to be so stupid/incompetent, they'd never of thought of the plane in the 1st place!
Given the statements on PNAC's site prior and even after the attacks. And given who was invovled in that orgnazation. I think its naive not to question the events.
Too many scientist say that the government's version of events is factually unsustainable. Also, statements from eyewitnesses, films, doctored films and other evidence leads to conclusions that do not support government's theories. Indeed, with all the evidence contradicting the government's explanation, it's surprising that anyone believes that the planes caused the collapse of the WTC, and or hit the Pentagon. More surprising is the fact that politicians continue to use 911 as a touchstone for the horror of Iraq and draconian changes in civil liberties.
